A customer approached us with an idea for personalized wedding name tags in a dove shape. Each dove included an engraved guest name and served both as a table name tag and a keepsake gift.

She had a clear idea of the shape - a dove with open wings - but no vector file. She provided only a reference photo and a guest-name list.

Our solution

We designed the dove shape as an SVG vector based on a reference photo. We selected 4 mm birch plywood — a natural material with a fine grain that looks elegant after laser processing.

Production ran in two steps: first laser cutting the shape from plywood, then engraving each name in an elegant typeface. Each piece was unique and generated from the provided name list.

Why plywood?
Birch plywood has a light, fine surface where laser engraving creates natural contrast. It is strong enough for the dove to remain a durable wedding keepsake.

Outcome

The doves were prepared ahead of the wedding. The customer received a sample for approval, and after confirmation we produced the full series.

Guests loved the result — the personalized doves felt like a thoughtful detail, not a mass-produced item. Most took them home as a wedding keepsake.
