Preparing your files

How to prepare your files.

The clearer the brief, the smoother the job. No model or drawing? That is fine, we can work from a sketch, a photo or a sample.

For every job

What to always send

Whatever the service, it helps if your enquiry includes:

01

What the part is for

The purpose and environment of use (indoors, outdoors, heat, moisture, load). We suggest the technology and material accordingly.

02

Quantity

A single piece is fine, we produce from 1 pc.

03

Material, if you know it

If not, tell us what the part has to withstand. We will suggest the material.

04

Deadline, if you have one

If you need the part by a certain date, let us know. We will confirm the date before production starts.

By service

What to prepare for each service

If you do not have something from the list, write to us. We will gladly advise what to add.

3D PRINT

3D printing

The ideal is a 3D model, which you can send as STL, 3MF or STEP.

Send

  • A model in STL, 3MF or STEP format (we can usually process other formats)
  • Dimensions in millimetres. Check the scale so that the model does not open in different units
  • For several parts, send them as separate files or as an assembly and state the quantity of each

If you only have a sketch or a photo

  • Send it with dimensions and a description of the use. We can model the part for you.

CNC

CNC milling

A 3D model together with a drawing works best.

Send

  • A 3D model in STEP format
  • A PDF drawing with dimensions
  • The material and quantity
  • If you need a specific accuracy, write it directly on the drawing. We will assess the requirement when preparing the quotation.

LASER

Laser engraving and cutting

A vector file is best for clean edges and precise logos.

Send

  • A vector file: DXF, SVG or PDF
  • The material and its thickness
  • Whether you want engraving or cutting
  • The required size of the result

If you only have an image

  • We can prepare PNG or JPG files, so send it in the best resolution you have.

SCAN

3D scanning

It is the physical object that gets scanned, not photographs. So before the job, tell us what we will be scanning.

Tell us

  • The size of the object
  • The material
  • The surface finish (glossy, transparent, black or very dark surfaces may be harder to scan and may need to be coated with a matt spray before scanning)
  • Whether you want a mesh (STL) or a CAD model

Optional

  • A few photos of the object from several sides, with something for scale. They help us estimate the job. Photos are optional and are not the scan itself.

MODEL

3D modelling

We model from a sketch, photos, dimensions or a sample.

Send

  • A sketch or photos
  • The dimensions you know
  • The purpose and where the part will be used
  • A reference part, if there is one (for example the piece the new part has to fit)

DOCS

Technical documentation

We prepare documentation from a model or from the physical part.

Send

  • The part or assembly (a model, a drawing or the part itself)
  • The key dimensions
  • The output you need (for example a drawing, a bill of materials or a technical report)
